These soldiers are not much stronger than peasants but they can be used for defense in order to block enemy attacks. They have good stamina and with some luck, they could become spearmen, arbalesters or swordsmen with time.

Description

A peasant is very lucky if he gets into militia detachments recruited by the Lord. Militiamen get food and clothes, and there are chances of them getting a few coins, too. In peacetime, militia is used for suppressing frequent peasant riots, and in wartime, these detachments form the core of the infantry. They are not too much superior over peasants in combat capabilities, but they consider themselves much more skilled warriors.
